Choice: nap with Bizou or feed adoring readers????

Just had a great lunch with Suzanne, whose permanent home is Cambridge, MA at a fantastic restaurant near St. Joseph's Cathedral.  We shared roasted chicken with rice, water spinach, and fried vermicelli with meaty crab, along with coconut milkshakes and tea for a grand total of less than $10.  Then we went to an artsy little coffee shop and I snapped these photos. We will definitely see her again before we leave and she gave us terrific ideas of places to go/eat while here.  We hope to eat dinner with her, with her daughter Tam, and maybe meet some others in the ex-pat community next week. Anthony just left to get Beatrice's Vietnamese passport, which we just learned will be taken from her upon arrival in Chicago as she automatically becomes a U.S. citizen.  I'm disappointed she can't keep dual citizenship, and that we can't even keep it for her as a souvenir.

Marianne, thank you so much for the baby carriers.  We've each used them and they are perfect.  Beatrice sits in them like a little kangaroo, and has also fallen asleep in them both times they've been used.   Maurice, thank you so much for the beautiful poem.  This little girl brings out the muse in all of us I see! Those of you who knew me in college can recognize the famous hairstyle my daughter shares with me, at least while I was studying for finals.  I finally got some rubber bands to replace the one that got taken from her for her passport photo.  She sweats so, so much and her hair is always damp.  This hairdo helps, and we think it suits her more than the bows anyway.

OK where do I begin...A. Feed Readers!!! B. She is by far the most adorable little muffin. I am completely in love and cannot stop looking at this blog. I have bookmarked her sight and have it on my phone. All of Newport News is loving Bizou as well. M&A I am so happy for you. Lastly, good luck trying to keep it quiet with her when you get home. She is more famous than Elvis and the Beatles! Let me know when you decide on her initials.Marianne

Michelle and Anthony... Your daughter is gorgeous. Lily and I have been checking your blog often, since Shawnie showed it to us. Lily loves to look at the new pictures of Shawnie and Nathan's cousin "Baby B" on the "puter". She ooohs and awwws at every picture. The picture of Baby B taking a nap is too precious. When Lily saw the picture of the three of you at lunch, she said..."AH! There she is with her mommy and daddy!" You look so happy together. Michelle, I am so sure that your mom is smiling at this very moment, and I believe that she has been with "Baby B" since the day she was born, preparing her for your arrival. Congratultions to you and your new family. Lily and I will be waiting to see new pictures. Brenda

Hey Anthony and Michelle and Beatrice! I've been following you -- with Leila at work and Donna at home -- and it's wonderful to see her with you in these first days. I'm reminded, of course, of our first days with Ceci. We have a photo almost identical to the one of Anthony napping w/ Beatrice on is belly, but it's me and Ceci in the orphanage. Great to see that girl smiling! Looking forward to more posts. Much love and good vibes! Mark
