Out of Order

I was looking through photos recently and came across this one. Why did I NOT post this back in June when it was taken???

Goodnight Moon

We just finished our 2nd annual Tet Trung Thu celebration, complete with homemade Vietnamese food, a star "lantern" parade through the house, games, mooncakes with tea, a reading of the legend of the holiday, and walking outside to view the full moon. Beatrice was in her glory, and Mama and Daddy loved every moment too.

Donning her apron, she gets ready for the big "Pah-yee" (party)
Auntie "Jay Jay" surprised us with this awesome gift!
Tasting the egg rolls from last night. I can't believe how good they were, and she drank the bowl of dipping sauce.
I was more adventurous this year and ordered lotus bean mooncakes "with yolk." Beatrice happily ate her piece of "the moon."
The sight of us parading around the house to Vietnamese folk music was quite something. I think Ho Chi Minh might be rolling over in his grave, but this Filipino-French-Canadian-Vietnamese-American family does the best it can.
It took a few minutes to find the moon in the sky, and it was a beauty!

2-3-4

Here's Bea with cousins Hank and Truman, getting ready to walk at the Juvenile Diabetes fundraiser in Hartford today. She's got her Presidential thing going, pointing and waving as she enters the arena...
