Creativity 101

When I came home today, Bea was frantically looking through DVD cases and I was just too tired to even ask what she was doing. Later on, I found a lone disc sitting on her "dining room table." I asked her why she had a DVD on the table and she looked at me disappointedly--like "oh, you pathetic soul" and replied: "Mama....it's a tablecloth." Duh.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays her babysitter brings her to my school at the end of the day and lately we've been hanging out in my office, playing games, painting, or even playing on the playground. She absolutely loves it. Well she found my "feelings ferris wheel" felt poster where children identify their emotions and put whatever one they are feeling at the moment in the center, and now she's into labeling her feelings randomly throughout the day. I guess a counselor's daughter should have that skill! So, here's HAPPY...
and SAD.....

goodness, Tess is SO about the feeling right now too! She frequently puts her "happy" in her pocket for safe keeping. then when she's sad, she gets it out and eats it. Poof. Transformed. Or sometimes she forgets her happy at Grandma's house and it simply can't be retrieved. And all we have is sad. There's "mad" and "surprised" too. Such a fun age!!!!
