Awesome Autumn

The weeks are going fast lately and the weekends even faster. Beatrice has learned to love the "stay at home" days of no school/no work for Mama. This weekend was a whirlwind of fun with a party at the Flotildes' home and then the corn maze on Sunday with Benjamin.

Egg rolls--be they Chinese, Filipino, Vietnamese (fried OR fresh)---are among B's favorite foods. I love this series of shots of her enjoying Tita Judy's famous lumpia:

The girls headed outside and jumped off a rock in the yard for what seemed like hours:

Then we got called in for cake. In every one of the dozen or more shots I have during candle insertion, lighting, and cake-slicing, my daughter's eyes are glued to this carrot cake:

Back outside for some walking on the "balance beam" and a very lopsided game of tag:

Sunday we were off to a local corn maze with some families from B's school:

Beatrice was shy with Benjamin at first but they were best buds by the end of the afternoon:

She and Nicole, Ben's mom and my colleague, making their way through the maze...

Then back to the McGarry's home for some pre-dinner bike racing in their perfect-for-biking-driveway!
