Here I am on vacation and I find my days busier than when I'm working! Or at least I'm way less structured so everything goes way more slowly. The days go by too quickly. I got out last Tuesday and the first week was hallmarked by a 3-day heat wave of near 100 degrees. During the past several days, aside from lounging in pajamas, eating breakfast in front of the TV, and doing a whole lotta nuttin', Beatrice had her first piano lesson, her last dance class of the season, and we read Charlotte's Web. What a great book that is! She ate it up and, though it's launched her into a bit of a perseveration-on-death phase, I think it was just right for her. Now we're into Pippi Longstockings and she's already convinced that will be her Halloween character (but she doesn't want freckles painted on her nose for some reason.) Today we went to the annual Asian Festival in Worcester and that was great, but I just haven't been motivated to grab the camera lately. Tomorrow we head to Maryland for 6 days, so maybe I'll have some good ones to post when we return.
