Beatrice has been motivated to try to read books silently lately and she has just started doing so in the past couple weeks, with some books that are fairly easy for her. After we read our own books side by side in bed last night, I asked her how it feels to be able to ready quietly all by herself?
A: Mouth-wateringly good!
Awesome words were abundant yesterday as she used "integral," "silken, and "excommunicate," except she said it first as "execute," threatening to do this to Daddy when he missed the first meeting of her newest "camping club." I told her what "execute" means and she said that wasn't it. I then guessed "exclude" but she then clarified it to "excommunicate." Not sure this was reassuring at all that she knew either word!
