Spring in the nation's capitol

We just got back from five days in Maryland/DC for a weekend of Foronda family reunions and a chance to see the cherry blossoms at their peak!

It's amazing that we got about 30 family members to all meet at the same time and place on one of the busiest days of the year in the city:

 Beatrice got a big dose of cousins, cousins, and more cousins!  She is so lucky to be surrounded by such an awesome family and, while we see them a decent amount considering the distance, it's never quite enough:

My sister and I haven't been in DC together since 1976.  Long overdue!

Here I am walking around the lake, trying to burn off some leche flan, with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece and "nephew" Mato:

Forget the memorials, cherry blossoms, and historical sites.  The kids were happiest playing with sticks and dirt near an old tree:
