I was overjoyed when I found out that my cousin and his family were moving back to the States after over a decade abroad. Beatrice is now in love with Maryam, her cousin who is just about 3 months younger, and the two girls have had lots of playtime together. She also adores the two older girls, who dote on her terribly, and tolerates quiet, sweet Muhammed who is 6 and cannot be more endearing, but has the tragic flaw ( in my daughter's eyes) of being a boy, and B. is seriously rigid about the idea that she can only be true friends with girls.
